For March 2024 several of us will be participating in the “30-Day Shout-Out Coach4aday Challenge”. Today the recipient is UNC PEMBROKE.

Today is the 137th anniversary of the founding of UNC Pembroke. I wanted to give a university that has done much for many including me a big shoutout.

Rules of the Challenge

Organizing and participating in the 30-Day Shout Coach4aday Challenge is very simple. Below are the steps.

Here is how to participate.

  1. Identify who gets the daily Shout-Out and make sure they know you are recognizing them.
  2. Describe why you giving them a Shout-Out-what are they doing that is notable?
  3. Do this daily for 30 Days posting on social media with the hashtag #Coach4adayChallenge

If you need ideas on how to give someone a daily shout-out here is a link on LinkedIn with some ideas that are good for the workplace.

March 7th-UNC Pembroke

UNC Pembroke, formerly known as Pembroke State University, traces its roots back to March 7, 1887, when it was founded as Croatan Normal School, primarily to educate Native American teachers. Over time, the institution underwent several transformations and expansions.

UNC Pembroke’s history is deeply intertwined with the local Lumbee Tribe and its commitment to providing higher education opportunities to Native Americans and other diverse populations in the region.

If you want to learn about the founders of the university this link is a great resource.

Happy Founders Day UNC Pembroke!

Coach4aday

My purpose in life is to coach. I am a former collegiate basketball coach, director of athletics, and chief of staff. I worked at four NCAA Division I & II universities during my career. At each campus I learned timeless lessons on teamwork and leadership. Today my passion is coaching others on what it takes to lead, serve, and succeed.
