For March 2024 several of us will be participating in the “30-Day Shout-Out Coach4aday Challenge”. Today my shoutout goes to JOHN TANNER.

Deciding to venture into blogging often comes with the common fear: “Will anyone actually read what I write?” This apprehension resonated with me when I began posting daily in 2014. However, thanks to the support of my friend and fellow blogger, John Tanner, that fear has dissipated. I can now confidently say that he consistently engages with my daily posts. In the spirit of reciprocity, I make it a point to reciprocate by engaging with his blog, John Tanner Barbecue.

John has also been in my backyard critiquing and consume barbecue.

Rules of the Challenge

Organizing and participating in the 30-Day Shout Coach4aday Challenge is very simple. Below are the steps.

Here is how to participate.

  1. Identify who gets the daily Shout-Out and make sure they know you are recognizing them.
  2. Describe why you giving them a Shout-Out-what are they doing that is notable?
  3. Do this daily for 30 Days posting on social media with the hashtag #Coach4adayChallenge

If you need ideas on how to give someone a daily shout-out here is a link on LinkedIn with some ideas that are good for the workplace.

March 4th-John Tanner

John has been more than just someone who is kind enough to read my daily posts. He actually took me on a barbecue assignment with him during the Pandemic in 2020. We got to visit Southern Smoke in Garland NC. You can read about that adventure at this link.

Coach4aday

My purpose in life is to coach. I am a former collegiate basketball coach, director of athletics, and chief of staff. I worked at four NCAA Division I & II universities during my career. At each campus I learned timeless lessons on teamwork and leadership. Today my passion is coaching others on what it takes to lead, serve, and succeed.
