For March 2024 several of us will be participating in the “30-Day Shout-Out Coach4aday Challenge”. Today the recipient is KENNY BIGGS.

Part of this challenge is to remind myself how blessed I am. Since 1999 my family and me have lived in the same home and it has come with a number of perks. One of those gifts is having great neighbors including Kenny Biggs and his wife Bonnie.

Kenny is a historian, and he can tell you lots about our county and city’s past. Kenny’s dad was the mayor of Lumberton. The Biggs family also has a long-standing business interest in our county that goes back to the 1800’s.

Rules of the Challenge

Organizing and participating in the 30-Day Shout Coach4aday Challenge is very simple. Below are the steps.

Here is how to participate.

  1. Identify who gets the daily Shout-Out and make sure they know you are recognizing them.
  2. Describe why you giving them a Shout-Out-what are they doing that is notable?
  3. Do this daily for 30 Days posting on social media with the hashtag #Coach4adayChallenge

If you need ideas on how to give someone a daily shout-out here is a link on LinkedIn with some ideas that are good for the workplace.

March 29th-Kenny Biggs

There is a lot that makes my next-door neighbor a gift and it might start with the diverse interest he has.

Kenny is an avid golfer who eagerly seizes any opportunity to hit the links. Alongside his friends Drew Bullard, David Branch, and Buddy Livingston, he has embarked on some memorable golfing adventures. Despite Kenny’s skill on the course, his return from these outings is often marked by an abundance of stories rather than a plethora of birdies. Nonetheless, I thoroughly enjoy listening to his captivating narratives especially the story of him being confused for Tom Watson.

Kenny’s affection for dogs knows no bounds. To truly understand his passion, just take a glance at the photo from a decade ago below, and that smile demonstrates the depth of his love he has for fur babies.

Community

When it comes to making our hometown a better place to live Kenny Biggs is all in. He and his family do a lot for many entities including the Lumberton Fire Department, Robeson County Museum, and of course Kiwanis of Robeson Lumberton.

Big shoutout to a great neighbor.

Coach4aday

My purpose in life is to coach. I am a former collegiate basketball coach, director of athletics, and chief of staff. I worked at four NCAA Division I & II universities during my career. At each campus I learned timeless lessons on teamwork and leadership. Today my passion is coaching others on what it takes to lead, serve, and succeed.
