#Mira March 30

We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.

For March 2024 several of us will be participating in the “30-Day Shout-Out Coach4aday Challenge”. Today the recipient is MIRA KENNEY.

My choice today is Mira Gibson Kenney who happens to be my best friend, wife, mom to our five grown children, and called “Bibby” by her two grandchildren. That is enough to qualify for a shoutout but there is a whole lot more.

Photo below is a partial group shot of the people she is a rock to. Like many large families getting the other twelve (5 children-5 spouses/fiancee’s-2 grandchildren) to join us at one time for a photo becomes a magical moment.

This photo is missing three of those twelve.

Rules of the Challenge

Organizing and participating in the 30-Day Shout Coach4aday Challenge is very simple. Below are the steps.

Here is how to participate.

  1. Identify who gets the daily Shout-Out and make sure they know you are recognizing them.
  2. Describe why you giving them a Shout-Out-what are they doing that is notable?
  3. Do this daily for 30 Days posting on social media with the hashtag #Coach4adayChallenge

If you need ideas on how to give someone a daily shout-out here is a link on LinkedIn with some ideas that are good for the workplace.

March 30th-Mira Kenney

When you have been married to your best friend for 43 years you know your life has been blessed. She has stayed with me through six different career titles at three different universities in two states.

She has endured living in seven different places we called home including adjoining hotel rooms for 6 weeks with four children. Had the patience to tackle constant remodeling and restoration of a house built in 1910. When we purchased it, we got 8 AC Window units, 4 kitchens, red shag carpet covering hardwood floors, cast iron radiators, and more layers of wallpaper than we want to remember.

Our home we have lived for 25 years.

One of the many values I admire includes the guidance and spiritual example she provides to many. Whether it is serving on the LYBA Board, volunteering in the community or serving at our church she approaches everything with a servant leader heart.

Today is the last shoutout of the 30-Day Shoutout Challenge and if I was ranking everyone, she would be first.

Coach4aday

My purpose in life is to coach. I am a former collegiate basketball coach, director of athletics, and chief of staff. I worked at four NCAA Division I & II universities during my career. At each campus I learned timeless lessons on teamwork and leadership. Today my passion is coaching others on what it takes to lead, serve, and succeed.
