For February 2024 several of us will be participating in the “30-Day RE Coach4aday Challenge”. The challenge involves utilizing a word that includes the prefix Re. Today my choice is to REPOST.

My first blog post occurred in January 2014. Since then, I have produced daily content which amounts to over 3,500 entries. Honestly most if not all of them have no literary significance. What they have done is instilled in me the habit of writing something every day.

Establishing a daily writing habit has facilitated self-reflection and acknowledgment of my growth as a writer. While comparing my work to others can diminish my joy, today I simply want to share a repost from 2020 about the impact of stacking one habit upon another. Knowing I could write a post everyday has allowed me to add other daily rituals that have given my life purpose.

Rules of the Challenge

Organizing the 30-Day RE Coach4aday Challenge involves performing, writing, or sharing about an event that captures the essence of the prefix. connections.

Here is how to participate.

  1. Identify what word that uses the prefix RE you choosing for the day. It is okay to repeat words.
  2. Describe or share how you accomplished utilizing that word.
  3. Do this daily for 30 Days posting on social media with the hashtag #Coach4adayChallenge

Day 2-REPOSTING about Habit Stacking

The original post happened on September. 21, 2020

James Clear in his book Atomic Habits talks about “Habit STACKING”

I have no doubt that all of the 30 Day Challenge I and others have engaged in 2020 is working on helping us improve. The improvement takes place because small incremental gains are STACKED on top of an existing ones.

One of the best ways to build a new habit is to identify a current habit you a and then stack your new behavior on top. I have accomplished this in 2020 by adding something new to my morning routine each month. That is the essence of habit STACKING.

When I began 2020 I only had three consistent morning habits; daily planning, writing a daily blog post, and reading the bible. Today because of the influence of 30 Day Challenges my morning daily habits have expanded to journaling, completing 30 push-ups, visualization, affirmations, and writing a daily note to someone.

Most people don’t lack motivation to improve what they lack is clarity. Habit STACKING can provide that.
