I went on a 4 mile WALK on Friday and was amazed at the colors of the trees in Southeastern North Carolina. Yes Autumn comes late in my part of the world. The WALK lifted my spirits because of the works of art I observed.

What can a walk do for you?

Benefits of Walking

Harvard Health Publishing has an article with five benefits.

So there is no doubt that walking has many benefits. There is also another tidbit about walking. Where you walk can change your brain. Walking amongst nature can calm the brain.

I came across this NY Times article about research being done on where we walk. It points to those they do there walking alone, with no music, and in natural setting seem to have improvements to the calming effects of exercise.

I will close this post by linking to another article on the 10 Fabulous Benefits of Walking in Nature.

I attempt to walk/run 4-5 days a week. I realize the colors of fall will soon fade but it won’t be long before spring colors will appear. For now I am enjoying the art show of nature plus the other benefits of a WALK.
