For September I am participating in the 30-Day Literary Lesson Coach4aday Challenge today I am doing a RECAP post.

Over the past thirty days it has been fantastic to go back and think about impactful things I have learned from reading. Bonus points came from seeing the posts from Jeff Neelon and Jaclyn Donovan and adding new books to the list of what I need to read in the coming months.

Literary Lesson Takeaways

  1. Reflecting I realized how many values I embrace have come from reading.
  2. Increased my vocabulary
  3. Communication is enhanced with the ability to tell stories each of the books I profiled the past month included some memorable story I have shared with others.
  4. The books I profiled often pointed out areas I could improve in. In some cases, it galvanized values and habits I already possessed that were beneficial.
  5. It reminded me of a quote I came across many years ago “Leaders are Readers”

Tomorrow it is on to a new endeavor for the month of October. Listed below are the previous 30-Day Coach4aday Challenges.

Coach4aday

My purpose in life is to coach. I am a former collegiate basketball coach, director of athletics, and chief of staff. I worked at four NCAA Division I & II universities during my career. At each campus I learned timeless lessons on teamwork and leadership. Today my passion is coaching others on what it takes to lead, serve, and succeed.
