For September I am participating in the 30-Day Literary Lesson Coach4aday Challenge today the lesson is on the NON-VERBAL way our bodies communicate.
It is often said that active listening is the greatest asset in communication. Well, if that is the case then being able to observe non-verbal body is a close second. language. I am envious of women. They are apparently born with great observation D.N.A. One example is they can notice the smallest change in a hairstyle of a friend.
It takes practice to get better at observing the body language of others. The benefits include meeting more interesting people, cultivating gratitude, becoming more empathic, and increasing my self-awareness.
Literary Lesson
One book to consider is The Dictionary of Body Language by Joe Navarro. The author is a former FBI agent and goes over 400 common or essential body language indicators. Moving from the head down to the feet, Navarro explains the hidden meanings behind the many conscious and subconscious things we do with our bodies.
