Push notifications seem to pop up on my phone more and more frequently. Yet, one last week about DIPA got my attention.

There are friends in my social circle that need no introduction to a DIPA. That list would include a lot of folks including Jaclyn Donovan, Joanna Read, Scott Billingsley, Jimmy Bethea, Gordon Byrd, Tony Jenkins, and Zack Greene. For those that are acronym challenged it refers to a Double India Pale Ale.

UNTAPPD is a beer tracking app, and they were the guilty party that sent me the push notification. It was about the 15 top rated beers in that category, and I just knew that one of my all-time favorites was on the list probably sitting at the top. That beer is Pliny the Elder.

Well Pliny was on the list just not at the top. In fact, that list has now placed a new destination on my bucket travel list. Charlton MA is home to Tree House Brewing, and they are apparently the king of DIPA’s.
