For Day 30 of the 30-Day Ingredient Coach4aday Challenge I am profiling the ingredients of a daily CHALLENGE.

Today brings the 30-Day Challenge for July to a close. I have now finished thirty-one consecutive 30-Day Challenge. Earlier in the month I got asked a why question. Why do I take on these different monthly contests? Decided to utilize that answer as my post for today.

First here is the list of what I and others have completed since January 2020. Jeff Neelon and Jaclyn Donovan, you two are the best.

Ingredients for a 30-Day Challenge

Simply put you need three things an idea, motivation, and a goal. 30 Day Challenge ideas are becoming a little more daunting each month because I want them to be unique. That requires more reflection time spent thinking. Yet, ideas are not the most important ingredient to complete a challenge you still need motivation. My motivation comes from an intrinsic desire to improve. Even with and a great idea and motivation the goal has to be viewed as doable. Doing something for thirty days just seems like something most people can accept as within their reach. When a goal is perceived as unreasonable people will stop trying. Starting small is the key.

James Clear in his book Atomic Habits talks about small incremental changes and that is what can happen over 30 days just doing something small. Each month I view a challenge I am taking on as an experiment to see if I can improve some aspect of my life. Not every 30-Day Challenge has done that, but several have. When they stick and I add another I am stacking which I wrote about in 2021. In fact, my first two challenges creating a gratitude journal and doing daily push-ups have become stacked on one another for my morning rituals.

30 Day Challenge are doable for those that want to improve or learn. It can add momentum and purpose to your life. On Monday I am on to another 30-Day experiment to see how I can improve. Consider joining me and others.
