Today for the 30-Day Podcast Coach4aday Challenge my theme is DIY.

DIY is an acronym for “Do It Yourself”. When you own an older home there is never a shortage of projects you need to be doing around your house. There are many popular podcasts to help you learn. Here is a list of eight pretty good podcast about home improvement projects. Not everything about DIY is about fixing or repairing. Sometimes it is the knowledge of what tools should be in the house. That includes the kitchen.

From that list I decided to listen to one show.

Day 26 Podcast

Fix it Home Improvement is the show I selected for today.

This show covers various topics that every homeowner should be aware of. The episode I listened to was about spoons and spatula. If you are part of the Kenney household spoon pranks have followed me most of my adult love. These ploys to throw me off my dining rhythm are always orchestrated by my children. They wait to I get up from table and replace my knife or fork with a spoon. I have picked up a spoon attempting to cut into a steak more than once.

Podcast Takeaways

Until I listened to this show I never knew that there are 4 highly recommended spatulas. The hosts of the show cited Epicurious as recommending the following:

  1. Fish Spatula
  2. Scraper Spatula
  3. Turner Spatula
  4. Grill Spatula

It appears that if you only can have one of these the Fish Spatula is the choice of chefs.

If that is not enough for you the podcast also went into telling its listeners about spoons. If your wooden spoon has an odor from cooking certain foods cleaning it with lemon juice and baking soda will get the smell out.
