June 2026 several of us are going to take on theĀ 30-Day Movie Scene Coach4aday Challenge. Each day we share a YouTube clip from a movie and explain what is intriguing about that particular scene. It is a simple daily activity of sharing a Movie Scene.

My focus today is on a 1997 film titled The POSTMAN starring Kevin Costner.

This month marks the 78th consecutive month that friendsĀ Jeff NeelonĀ andĀ Jaclyn DonovanĀ have taken on some sort of challenge. For June 2026 participants simply commit to sharing one movie scene from a film. Each scene just needs to be accompanied by a simple explanation on what is happening or why it was chosen. Hope you decide to join us or enjoy the clips we share.

Day 6-The Postman -The Trailer

Set in a post-apocalyptic America, The Postman follows a drifter who discovers a postal worker’s uniform and begins delivering mail to isolated communities. What starts as a simple deception evolves into a movement that inspires hope, unity, and the rebuilding of society.

There is no denying the financial facts about this film. The film had a production budget of about $80 million, but earned only about $17.6 million domestically and approximately $20.8 million worldwide during its theatrical run. Its opening weekend brought in just over $5.2 million, and ticket sales declined rapidly in the weeks that followed.

As a result, The Postman is often cited as one of the biggest box-office flops of 1997 and one of the most notable financial disappointments of Kevin Costner’s career.

Yet when I saw the film, I loved its message of hope for America. What I am sharing is the movie trailer for the film.
