For December 2023, several of us are participating in the “30-Day ANATOMY Coach4aday Challenge.” My choice today is the TRAPEZIUS

During this challenge, the participants select a bone or muscle in the human body, providing details about its location and physiological significance.

How the Challenge Works

  1. Identify one anatomical part of the body.
  2. Describe what its purpose is.
  3. Describe where it is located.

Identify Your Choice

My selection today is a muscle. My selection is the Trapezius which is one of the upper torso muscles.

Purpose

The trapezius is a broad, flat, and triangular muscle. The muscles on each side form a trapezoid shape. It plays a key role in the movement and stabilization of the shoulder blades. It helps control the movement of the scapulae during actions such as raising the arms and shrugging the shoulders.

Location

The trapezius muscle is located on your upper back and neck. It forms a triangular shape and extends from the base of your skull to the middle of your spine, spreading out towards the shoulders.

Coach4aday

My purpose in life is to coach. I am a former collegiate basketball coach, director of athletics, and chief of staff. I worked at four NCAA Division I & II universities during my career. At each campus I learned timeless lessons on teamwork and leadership. Today my passion is coaching others on what it takes to lead, serve, and succeed.
