We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.

This week our host Jim Adams for Song Lyric Sunday has given us the prompt of Fix/Make.

Take some time to read the posts of other bloggers who respond to this music challenge, and even better, read as many of them as you are able to as you will probably find many enjoyable songs and it is quite possibly that you will learn a thing or two. Also feel free to offer up your suggestion to this week’s prompt.

Here are the “rules”:
• Post the lyrics to the song of your choice, whether it contains the prompt words or not.  If it does not meet the criteria, then please explain why you chose this song.
• Please try to include the songwriter(s) – it’s a good idea to give credit where credit is due.  Your post can be as long or as short as you want it to be.
• Make sure you also credit the singer/band and if you desire you can provide a link to where you found the lyrics.
• Link to the YouTube video, or pull it into your post so others can listen to the song.
• Ping back to this post or place your link in the comments section below.
• Read at least one other person’s blog, so we can all share new and fantastic music and create amazing new blogging friends in the process.
• Feel free to suggest future prompts.
• Have fun and enjoy the music.

I just got back from a week long road trip that my wife and I dubbed VactionVILLE. We spent the 8 nights in Knoxville, Nashville, and Louisville. It was a trip to Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge on Broadway in Nashville that I first heard the song “Tequila MAKES Her Clothes Fall Off” by Joe Nichols. That is my song choice this week.

The Smoking J’s performing in Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge April 20, 2021

When the band in Tootsie’s who go by the name Smoking J’s covered my choice everyone in the bar was singing the lyrics. I don’t listen to much country and western but apparently this song is quite popular. There were also shots of tequila being consumed in Tootsie’s but not by me. For the record everyone’s apparel remained on during the song. What happened after some of the customers left is beyond the scope of this post.

The song written by Gary Hannan and John Wiggins and recorded by Joe Nichols. It was released in August 2005 as the first single from Nichols’ album III.

Here is a video of Joe Nichols performing the song

Next week the prompt will be Heaven/Hell

I would love to go to Nashville, even though I am not a big Country Music fan. Nice music Dan. John Wiggins and Gary Hannan spent hours trying to come up with a song when they decided to head to a brewhouse and grab a beer and then a shot. Soon, Wiggins was scribbling down a future country hit on a drink coaster.
