This week our host Jim Adams for Song Lyric Sunday has given us the prompt of School, College, Education, Class, Degree.
The goal is to take the prompt and profile a song that has it part of its lyrics or title.
Please consider carving out time to read the posts of other bloggers who responded to the Song Lyric Sunday challenge.
Rules for Song Lyric Sunday
Post the lyrics to the song of your choice, whether it contains the prompt words or not. If it does not meet the criteria, then please explain why you chose this song.
• Please try to include the songwriter(s) – it’s a good idea to give credit where credit is due. Your post can be as long or as short as you want it to be.
• Make sure you also credit the singer/band and if you desire you can provide a link to where you found the lyrics.
• Link to the YouTube video, or pull it into your post so others can listen to the song.
• Ping back to this post or place your link in the comments section below.
• Read at least one other person’s blog, so we can all share new and fantastic music and create amazing new blogging friends in the process.
• Feel free to suggest future prompts.
• Have fun and enjoy the music.
Adult Education
These last few days of November I am finishing up my 30 Day Album #Coach4adayChallenge. On November 19th I listened to a complete Hall and Oates album called “Abandoned Luncheonette“. Today for Song Lyric Sunday I am going back to Hall and Oates this time to their 1983 album called Rock n’ Roll Soul Part 1. On that album is my choice for the week “Adult Education“. According to Daryl Hall the song is a reminder that there is life after high school.
The song was written by Daryl Hall, John Oates, and Sara Allen. It was released as a single but included on Rock n’ Roll Part 1. Daryl Hall was pretty adamant that the music video for this song stinks. Also the Hall and Oates song “Sara Smile” was written about Sara Allen. That song is also on Rock n’ Roll Part 1.

Here is the best video of Hall and Oates performing “Adult Education” I could find. If you don’t know Daryl Hall hosts a show called Daryl’s House. Here he is doing the song with the Neon Trees back in 2010.
For those growing up in the 1980’s as high school students hope this brings back some memories. Next week the prompt is House, Room, Kitchen, Shower, Attic
I love watching Daryl’s house. It a great show and you get to see some cool musicians.
