This week our host Jim Adams for Song Lyric Sunday has given us the prompt of Cappuccino/Coffee/Expresso/Latte/Mocha. The goal is to find a song that contains a title or lyrics involving Cappuccino/Coffee/Expresso/Latte/Mocha.

Take some time to read the posts of other bloggers who respond to this music challenge, and even better, read as many of them as you are able to as you will probably find many enjoyable songs and it is quite possibly that you will learn a thing or two.  Also feel free to offer up your suggestion to this week’s prompt.

Here are the “rules”:
• Post the lyrics to the song of your choice, whether it contains the prompt words or not.  If it does not meet the criteria, then please explain why you chose this song.
• Please try to include the songwriter(s) – it’s a good idea to give credit where credit is due.  Your post can be as long or as short as you want it to be.
• Make sure you also credit the singer/band and if you desire you can provide a link to where you found the lyrics.
• Link to the YouTube video, or pull it into your post so others can listen to the song.
• Ping back to this post or place your link in the comments section below.
• Read at least one other person’s blog, so we can all share new and fantastic music and create amazing new blogging friends in the process.
• Feel free to suggest future prompts.
• Have fun and enjoy the music.

I decided for this week’s prompt to discover a new song for me and possibly everyone else who makes a contribution to #SongLyricSunday. I found a song recorded in 1928 titled “Your The Cream in My Coffee”.

“You’re the Cream in My Coffee” was a very popular song when it was released in 1928. The music was written by Ray Henderson, with lyrics by Buddy G. DeSylva and Lew Brown and appears in their Broadway musical Hold Everything! The original two act musical play ran for almost an entire year at the Broadhurst Theatre

The song has been covered by many including the Nat King Cole Trio.

Here are the lyrics and for the record not many songs can weave Worcestershire into the lyrics but this song does.

I want to offer up a Jack Hylton’s Orch. video of the song. I choose this one just to showcase the clothes and fashion that was bringing the end of the roaring 20’s to a close.

People in the 1920’s were putting Cream in their Coffee with style.

Next week the prompt will be Anguish/Misery/Torment. I feel a blues song coming on.
