As the month of November comes to a close I have more albums I want to include but am running out of days. So for todays 30 Day Album #Coach4adayChallenge I went with the group WAR. Specifically I listened to The World Is a Ghetto”.

This 1972 album was their fifth. It was the best selling album of 1973.

Many people might be surprised that WAR has been around since 1969. They epitomize the Los Angeles Latino sound and culture. In fact the song “Lowrider” has become an anthem of sorts for the Latino custom car community.

I learned a lot about WAR from a website called liveabout dotcom. On that site I found this link and what is below comes from part of that article.

One of my attractions to WAR has been the sound that Lee Oskar can produce from harmonica. When I first heard WAR songs I was convinced that they came from horns. Here is a YouTube clip of him just jamming with the Low Rider Band. His skill set is off the charts.

If you want to listen to music that jams give WAR a listen.
