There is a famous line in the movie the “Godfather” about REVENGE.

The quote is “REVENGE is a dish best served cold” uttered by Don Vito Corleone to his son Michael.

I also read something back in February related to REVENGE that I believe is so much more relevant to living a productive life. It went like this “We should not spend our time trying to even scores but opening new doors”.

The problem with REVENGE is brings out the worst in you. I know first hand because there have been moments in my life where I was so angry all I wanted to do was “even the score”. Logically I realize that REVENGE just lowers me to the level of the person who harmed or did me wrong. Yet once again we see how much more powerful emotion can be over logic.

A leader, who is just a tad older than the fictional character Don Corleone, was Confucius. His quote on REVENGE goes like this. “Before you embark on a journey of REVENGE, dig two graves.” I have found that is so true. When you are hell bent on REVENGE a little part of the best version of yourself dies.

The best piece of advice I can offer up about REVENGE is this gem of quote from Jerry Seinfeld to George Constanza.

The best form of REVENGE is a life well lived.

I hope today presents you a chance to open a new door.
