Here are three concepts for leaders attempting to get their team to regroup after a setback.

  1. Open Communication: Encourage an environment where team members feel comfortable expressing their thoughts and concerns.
  2. Focus on Solutions: Instead of dwelling on the negatives, shift the team’s focus towards finding solutions. Brainstorm together to generate ideas for overcoming obstacles and achieving the desired outcomes.
  3. Reinforce Resilience: Remind your team of their past successes and resilience in overcoming challenges. Highlight the lessons learned from setbacks as opportunities for growth and development.

My purpose in life is to coach. I am a former collegiate basketball coach, director of athletics, and chief of staff. I worked at four NCAA Division I & II universities during my career. At each campus I learned timeless lessons on teamwork and leadership. Today my passion is coaching others on what it takes to lead, serve, and succeed.
