Our society often places a value on the ability to be RECOGNIZED.
There is a even a rating called a Q Score which measures how familiar or RECOGNIZABLE someone is. Apparently being on TV or showing up on social media feeds helps your score. People are quizzed by the Q Score organizers and given choices for each person or item being surveyed:
A. One of my favorites. B. Very Good C. Good D. Fair E. Poor F. Never heard of
Here are the Q Score options.
On Sunday January 3, 2020 I decided to watch TV and see how long it would take before I could encounter 5 people who I would score with with a F. Never Heard of
I don’t mean to hurt anyone’s self-esteem but I began watching Sunday Morning on CBS and it took me 15 minutes to come across five names that I had never heard of before. They included someone who worked in the White House, a Billionaire, the CIO for a US President, TV News Anchor, CIA Chief of Station at agency outposts, and a host of a TV show. All statuses that some would deem impressive but to me they were UNRECOGNIZABLE.
Does anyone RECOGNIZE all five of these people listed below? I didn’t yet they were on TV.
Sumner Redstone Taylor Hernandez Steve Wilkos Dan Hoffman Theresa Payton
I am convinced that significance and RECOGNITION are not the same thing. We become significant to other people on how we make them feel not by how many times we pop up on TV or in a social media feed.
Help someone today get RECOGNIZED by making them feel significant and I will give you answer A on the Q Score of “One of my favorites“
