Today for Day 20 of the 30-Day Ingredient Coach4aday Challenge looking to discover what QUARTZ is used for.

Mankind has found multiple ways to utilize QUARTZ which is the most plentiful mineral in the earth’s crust. Some of the properties that make it valuable include those found below:

Crystal Oscillators

Electrical engineering is not a world I know much about. What I do understand is that Crystal Oscillators are necessary for many things that have made our life easier.

Quartz is a common material that is needed to make these devices. How they work because of limited capacity to understand the laws of electricity seems like magic. One place where this sort of magic happens is with a barbecue lighter.
