#Po’Boy February 9

If sandwiches had a hall of fame the PO’BOY would be enshrined. Greg Domecq introduced me to them during a trip to New Orleans.

February’s Challenge is not about writing about sandwiches but rather poems. The Poem of the Day for me was written in 1926 and is called Po”BOY Blues. Langston Hughes is the author, and he had a fabulous writing career. Hughes was one of the leading figures of the Harlem Renaissance.

Po’Boy Blues

Reading poetry and determining its message can sometimes be complicated because of spelling and vocabulary. This piece of poetry has been pretty well analyzed by a website called Modern Poetry-MOD Blog. A 2014 blog post by Victoria C really does a good job of bringing context and meaning to this work. Here is a link to that post titled Po’Boy Blues by Langston Hughes
