Today for the 30-Day Movie Coach4aday Challenge the film chosen is about KUTSHNER’S Resort.

My choice was located on Amazon Prime and is titled “WELCOME TO KUTSHER’S: THE LAST CATSKILLS RESORT”

Kutsher’s Country Club was the last surviving Jewish resort in the Catskills. One of the legendary Borscht Belt hotels during its heyday, Kutsher’s was family-owned and operated for over 100 years. It was demolished in 2014.
Basketball at Kutsher
Did not know that Wilt Chamberlain worked as a bellhop at the resort while in High School. Also Red Auerbach while coaching the Boston Celtics worked there in summers. Kutsher had a basketball legacy.
In 1958, after budding star Maurice Stokes suffered a brain hemorrhage during an NBA game, teammate Jack Twyman and Milton Kutsher organized an all-star game to raise money for Stokes’ bills. It became an annual tradition that rivaled the NBA All-Star game in talent.
This is a great film for anyone that is a basketball historian.
