Today for the 30-Day Movie Coach4aday Challenge I watched a documentary on Lincoln’s address at GETTYSBURG.

Watched a film on Amazon Prime called Lincoln @ Gettysburg. The film was a combination history lesson on the importance of the telegraph and the 272-word Gettysburg Address President Lincoln gave in November 1863.

Lessons Learned

Abraham Lincoln came down with Smallpox on his way back to Washington DC after his address.

The telegraph was his secret weapon against the South.

Former Secretary of State Edward Everett delivered a two-hour speech right before Lincoln gave his 3-minute remarks.

The night before appearing Lincoln stayed in a cramped bedroom at the David Wills home.

There is only one known photo of Lincoln at this event.
