Today for the 30-Day Movie Coach4aday Challenge the last choice of this month’s challenge is about an ENCOUNTER.

Back in March 2022 I located a website that detailed the top grossing film from each state. In August I visited Wyoming, so my final movie choice is from 1977 and is titled “Close Encounters of a Third Kind“.

This film is a science fiction adventure about a group of people who attempt to contact alien intelligence. Roy Neary (Played by Richard Dreyfuss) witnesses an unidentified flying object, and even has a “sunburn” from its bright lights to prove it. Roy refuses to accept an explanation for what he saw and is prepared to give up his life to pursue the truth about UFOs.

The FILM is the highest-grossing film never to win the Academy Award for Best Picture. Most estimates place it around 340 million dollars not bad considering it cost about 20 million to shoot.
