# Descendants November 6

On January 1 of this year I began a new daily habit of reading one chapter of the Bible each morning. I started with the New Testament and on October 20th I finished the last chapter in Revelations.

I started reading the Old Testament on October 21st and of course began with Genesis. Chapters 5, 10 and 11 list a lot of DESCENDANTS of various biblical characters including Adam, Eve, Noah, and Abraham.

There are many sacrifices that biblical characters made on behalf of their DESCENDANTS.

Each of us is a descendant and that in itself is a gift we received from generations that came way before us. Are ancestors may not be physically but don’t doubt for a minute they did not make sacrifices and choices to enhance our lives. Each us is a collection of many gifts from generations far removed from us.

If you are reading this you are keeping your family’s lineage going. That doesn’t always happen. We can look at US Presidents for examples.

We have had 45 presidents in the United States. Technically we have only had 44 individuals since Grover Cleveland was elected into office for two nonconsecutive terms and counts as both the 22nd and the 24th president.

There have been ten US Presidents that do not have any living DESCENDANTS.

There of course many DESCENDANTS of former US Presidents still alive. Here is that chart.

Be a good steward of the life you have. Somewhere up your ancestral tree sacrifices were made for you to be a DESCENDANT who would experience a wonderful life. Enjoy that gift.
