Aristotle has a fantastic quote about habits:

“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act, but a habit.”

The key is being CONSISTENT in practicing those habits. It is not enough to just get it right one time but to be so CONSISTENT you almost never get it wrong. That is what CONSISTENCY will do over time.
