For December 2023, several of us are participating in the “30-Day ANATOMY Coach4aday Challenge.” My choice today is the BRACHIORADIALIS

During this challenge, the participants select a bone or muscle in the human body, providing details about its location and physiological significance.

How the Challenge Works

  1. Identify one anatomical part of the body.
  2. Describe what its purpose is.
  3. Describe where it is located.

Identify Your Choice

My choice today is a muscle called the Brachioradialis.

Purpose

This muscle primarily flexes the forearm at the elbow but also functions to supinate or pronate depending on the rotation of the forearm.

Location

The brachioradialis is a muscle in your forearm. It runs from the upper arm (brachium) to the radius bone in the forearm. If you look at your forearm with your palm facing up, the brachioradialis is on the thumb side of your forearm, and you can often see it when you flex your arm or grip something.

Coach4aday

My purpose in life is to coach. I am a former collegiate basketball coach, director of athletics, and chief of staff. I worked at four NCAA Division I & II universities during my career. At each campus I learned timeless lessons on teamwork and leadership. Today my passion is coaching others on what it takes to lead, serve, and succeed.
