Today I want to RECAP what the 30 Day Appreciation Challenge not only taught me but what it gave me.

For thirty consecutive days in January I along with others posted a list of ten things, people, places, or experiences we were appreciative of. For everyone who read, liked or commented on my posts thank you.. More importantly to everyone who shared their appreciations THANK YOU. Special shout out to Jeff Neelon.

The past 30 days I listed 300 appreciations. My list included mostly people but not just a person’s name but how they made me feel. When our mind begins to focus on all the wonderful moments and experiences it becomes exhilarating.

January brought me a share of predicaments (tribute to David Ruth who refuses to say problems) including both of my sisters contracting COVID, my youngest son testing positive, and I became adopted by Mr. COVID as his two week traveling companion. None of these events were uplifting and inspiring. In fact sometimes I felt overmatched like I was battling a giant everyday. I was not alone there were also friends that lost family members due to the pandemic. Then on top of all that we had the scar of January 6th when the US Capitol was stormed.

Yet despite all of those troubles January still brought me a positive outlook on my life. I loved this challenge and the daily habit of being appreciative. I read something during the month that I believe is true.

“Sometimes GOD sends us a Goliath to battle to help us discover the David within us”

This month I realized just how much I have to appreciate. I also realize that appreciation can slay lots of giant troubles in our lives.

On Monday it is on to another new #Coach4aday 30 Day Challenge. Check back then and see if you want to join our group.
