Today for the 30-Day Musial Instrument Coach4aday Challenge the post is going to feature the BASS FIDDLE.

My choice today is the largest and lowest member of the violin family. Sometimes the Bass Fiddle or double bass gets called a contrabass, string bass or bull fiddle, the double bass is often confused with its close relative the cello.

This instrument can be featured in lots of genres including classical, jazz and bluegrass, and rock and pop.

Bass Fiddle Artists

Located a list on a website called HelloMusicTheory.com that produced a list of 15 musicians that have earned a reputation as outstanding. One of the names on the list is Christian McBride.

In the world of musicians was compared to NFL football teams the Double Bass may be the offensive line. It is not a star that piles up impressive stats or accolades, but it makes the song or arrangement succeed.

Videos

Selected a couple of videos featuring our profiled instrument.

First a cover of Adele’s song “Rolling in the Deep” performed by Simply Three.

Here is a Solo by Niels Henning Orsted Pedersen.
