This month spring will become to come into bloom in many places bringing all of us FLOWERS.
This month for the 30-Day State Trivia Challenge I am focusing on what I can learn about Wyoming. Castilleja linariifolia or Wyoming Indian paintbrush is the state’s national flower.
Paintbrush
Paintbrush is a perennial plant, native to the United States. It is not a spring flower but it more likely to appear from June to September. It grows up to 3 feet in height and has linear leaves which are between 6 to 12 inches in length and have up to 3 lobes. The flowers, which consist of a red to yellow calyx and yellow-green floral tube, appear in panicles or spikes between June and September in its native range.
One place you can use paintbrush is in butterfly gardens.
