#Reset February 7

For February 2024 several of us will be participating in the “30-Day RE Coach4aday Challenge”. The challenge involves utilizing a word that includes the prefix Re. Today my word is RESET.
At least once a month I will hear my wife utter the phrase “the internet is off“. That is code for most married men to stop what you might be doing and investigate the problem starting with the router or modem. It often means a RESET of one or both devices. I’m curious about what might be causing this, and I’m wondering if this is an isolated phenomenon specific to my home.
Rules of the Challenge
Organizing the 30-Day RE Coach4aday Challenge involves performing, writing, or sharing about an event that captures the essence of the prefix. connections.
Here is how to participate.
- Identify what word that uses the prefix RE you choosing for the day. It is okay to repeat words.
- Describe or share how you accomplished utilizing that word.
- Do this daily for 30 Days posting on social media with the hashtag #Coach4adayChallenge
February 7-Reset Modems and Routers
So, what causes intermittent loss of wi-fi access? Here are some common causes that involve a reset to correct.
- Routers that provide Wi-Fi connectivity may sometimes encounter issues with network stability or speed. Periodically resetting the router can help resolve these issues and improve overall performance.
- Internet modems, particularly those connected to cable or DSL services, might benefit from occasional resets. I actually discovered an article that suggest doing this once a month as a best practice. That was located on Hitron and located at this link.
Want to close with a technical article for those that utilize Spectrum Internet. Often time’s location of the router can be very important.
