Today for the 30-Day Movie Coach4aday Challenge I watched a movie called the STING.
My choice today is a film I have seen more than once but I wanted to watch it again because of Paul Newman. The Sting was a 1973 movie that is just a fantastic caper. In addition to Newman let’s not forget that the film co-starred Robert Redford. It won the Academy Award for Best Picture.
In 1969 Newman and Redford teamed up to make Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Blockbuster gold is the best way to describe that film. Four years later with The Sting that duo was at it again.
Quotes from The Sting
You follow?” –Doyle Lonnegan, ‘The Sting’.
“Tough luck, Lonnehan. But that’s what you get for playing with your head up your ass!” –Henry Gondorff, ‘The Sting’.
The name’s Lonnegan! Doyle Lonnegan! You’re gonna remember that name or you’re gonna get yourself a new game! You follow?” –Doyle Lonnegan, ‘The Sting’.
” -Floyd: Doyle, I KNOW I gave him four THREES. He had to make a SWITCH. We can’t let him get away with that. Doyle Lonnegan: What was I supposed to do – call him for cheating better than me, in front of the others?” – ‘The Sting’.
