#SongLyricSunday-Think- March 27

We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.

This week our host Jim Adams for Song Lyric Sunday has given us the prompt of songs about Mind, Think, and Brain.

The goal is to take the prompt and profile a song that has it part of its lyrics or title.

Please consider carving out time to read the posts of other bloggers who responded to the Song Lyric Sunday challenge.

Rules for Song Lyric Sunday

Post the lyrics to the song of your choice, whether it contains the prompt words or not.  If it does not meet the criteria, then please explain why you chose this song.
• Please try to include the songwriter(s) – it’s a good idea to give credit where credit is due.  Your post can be as long or as short as you want it to be.
• Make sure you also credit the singer/band and if you desire you can provide a link to where you found the lyrics.
• Link to the YouTube video or pull it into your post so others can listen to the song.
• Ping back to this post or place your link in the comments section below.
• Read at least one other person’s blog, so we can all share new and fantastic music and create amazing new blogging friends in the process.
• Feel free to suggest future prompts.
• Have fun and enjoy the music.

Think

Today is the last Sunday of March and once again I am attempting to use this post to accomplish two challenges. My choice of songs for Song Lyric Sunday is Think by Aretha Franklin that was featured in the film “The Blues Brothers“. For the 30-Day State Trivia Coach4aday Challenge I am coming up with interesting facts each day about the state of Wyoming. Today I am profiling businesses with the name Blues Brothers located in the state.

First the businesses in Wyoming.

Now to Think. The Blues Brothers are an American blues and soul revivalist band founded in 1978 by comedians Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi as part of a musical sketch on Saturday Night Live. In 1980 they turned that sketch into a movie.

The song “Think” was recorded in 1968 and was written by Aretha Franklin and Ted White who was her husband and manager. The song is about freedom and respect for women. Aretha also had an acting and singing role in the movie. Her career was experiencing a lull at that point, so she was happy to get back into the public eye with the film.

Video-Think

Here is the scene from the movie with Aretha Franklin interacting with Jake and Elwood as they attempt to convince Aretha’s man to go on a “Mission from God“.

Next week the prompt is “Clive Davis day”, write about any song made by an artist or a band that he signed to his label, or one he produced.
