Today is the first of the month so it is time to kick-off a new 30 Day Coach4day Challenge. For March the quest is STATE TRIVIA.

Challenges are designed to help us grow, change, and learn. Learning can occur in a lot of ways and sharing interesting stories about each of the 50 states is one thing I have always enjoyed. Shows like ‘How the States Got Their Shapes” and “Aerial America” have always intrigued me. Happy to report that Jeff Neelon and Jaclyn Donovan are already onboard to take the 30-Day State Trivia Coach4aday Challenge.

State Trivia Challenge Guideline

  1. You select a US State you have never lived in-If you have lived in all 50 States you are exempt
  2. For 30 Days you report on a fact, story, bio, stat, or something interesting on that one state you have selected.
  3. Attempt to read what others are sharing.

Wyoming

I have lived in three (NJ-NC-SC) of fifty US States. Wyoming is not one of them and I decided to choose it for one reason. Most of the country’s first National Park –Yellowstone National Park is located inside of its borders and it is a place I want to visit.

Day 1 -30 Day State Trivia about Wyoming

Most people know that Wyoming is the least populated state in the US. It trails Vermont by about 50,000 citizens and its total population is estimated to be under 600,000. When it comes to land Wyoming is the 10th largest state in the union.

What I didn’t know is who owns most of the land in Wyoming. The Federal Government owns over 48% of all the land in the state. Federal Land is managed for many reasons including conservation and development of natural resources. In Wyoming, the federal government owns 48.19 percent of Wyoming’s total land, 30,043,512 acres out of 62,343,040 total acres.

That is how you participate in the 30-Day State Trivia Challenge-Go pick a state and learn something each day.

Coach4aday

My purpose in life is to coach. I am a former collegiate basketball coach, director of athletics, and chief of staff. I worked at four NCAA Division I & II universities during my career. At each campus I learned timeless lessons on teamwork and leadership. Today my passion is coaching others on what it takes to lead, serve, and succeed.
