#Recap February 28

Today’s post is a RECAP of the past month being involved with Coach4aday Challenge. For February it was Poetry.

Today ends the 26th 30-Day Coach4aday Challenge that Jeff Neelon and I completed. Reading a poem, every day for the past month was far more enjoyable than January’s Challenge of avoiding sugar. Poetry made me reflect and quite often consult a dictionary to understand the meaning of words written many years ago. Jeff also brought to life some aspects of him growing up in New England which I enjoyed.

For the last day of the Poetry Challenge, I read “Dare To Be” by Steve Maraboli. I wanted something that might capture the essence of what people go thru when they seek to grow and change. That is what anybody is attempting to do when they seek to alter some aspect of their existence. 30 Day Challenges are in essence a “Dare to Change”.

List of previous 30-Day Coach4day Challenges

Below is a chart of each Coach4aay Challenge I have completed since January 2020. If you want to read more detail on how each 30-Day Challenge worked go to Coach4aday.com and scroll down on left side to “archive section”. It looks like what you see below.

Just click on the month and details about each month’s challenge are included on the post for the first day of that month.

Here is the list

Lessons Learned

First that the simple poems I read each day were often written by complex and sometimes troubled humans.

Second, the short time it took each morning to read a poem often provided me with opportunities for reflection and gratitude.

Finally, there are many people today that write and post prose daily. I was able to locate a number of fantastic websites that showcased new and aspiring poets’ abilities.

Tomorrow it will be on to new challenge. Will post the details then. Hope you will think about joining us.

Coach4aday

My purpose in life is to coach. I am a former collegiate basketball coach, director of athletics, and chief of staff. I worked at four NCAA Division I & II universities during my career. At each campus I learned timeless lessons on teamwork and leadership. Today my passion is coaching others on what it takes to lead, serve, and succeed.
