#SALE April 3

We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.

For the month of April several of us are participating in the 30-Day Conversation Coach4aday Challenge. Each day we share a dialog between two individuals that touches on a theme or topic. Today it is the approach to use making a SALE.

Today’s conversation involves an elderly gentleman and an employee who gets caught in a contradiction. Integrity matters.

April Conversation Challenge

The overarching aim for the 30-Day Conversation Coach4aday Challenge is to engage or to repeat conversations and disseminate them. I am hoping this post is worth sharing or thinking about.

Rules of the Challenge

First brevity is the key.

Second it is not necessary to fully identify the parties involved but writing it like a script might be helpful.

Third the conversations being shared can come from personal experiences, books, films, TV shows, or are imaginations.

Day 3-The One Day Sale

It’s a Saturday, marking the end of the month. The Sales Manager at the prominent furniture store gathers his sales team, urging them to be proactive today. He instructs them to seize every opportunity to interact with customers as they enter the store. Meeting our sales target is crucial for securing those bonuses, so let’s give it our all.

This is the conversation that take place between an elderly man and a customer sales rep desperate to close a sale.

Employee:As a man enters through the door, a salesperson approaches him and enthusiastically declares, “Sir, today is your lucky day! We’re hosting a massive one-day-only sale. Everything in the store is discounted for today only!”

Man: Walks toward the recliners and says to the employee. “Did you say everything is marked down?

Employee: Yes, sir you won’t ever find prices this low in this store again. Today is the day to get a recliner and a once in a lifetime price.

Man: Stopping at a leather recliner complete with a cup holder. “How much is this one there is no price tag on it?”

Employee: Goes to his phone pretending to be looking up the model and responds. “Well sir with the one-day sale pricing we are offering this today only for $499.

Man: Do you have a lot of people look at this particular recliner?

Employee: Why yes just yesterday we had a woman come in here and inquire about this very chair. Your lucky day because she left without the recliner and our sale price.

Man: Any chance she had her hair up in a beehive?

Employee: Why yes do you know her?

Man: That was my wife-she told me she haggled for 30 minutes and got the asking price of $499 to $459-I told her I could do better but apparently, I’m a day late because the sale was yesterday. Have a nice day!
