People collect all kinds of stuff including POSTCARDS. Deltiology is the formal name in the USA for POSTCARD collecting, and remains the third largest collectable hobby in the world.

In fact you can Google the word postcard followed by a US town and find images of postcards for that community. I did it for Lumberton NC

Postcards

It was easy for me to find old and new postcards for Lumberton NC. Some of the ones featured businesses I had never knew existed. One in particular is Norment Motors which apparently existed around 1936.

I also found the Knotty Pine Motel which was 3 miles south of Lumberton NC on US 301.

I personally have a postcard of Lumberton NC featuring Elm Street looking North.

I also found a home called Domino Home attributed to Lumberton.

I found postcards for churches in Lumberton NC including First Baptist

I also found a postcard for First Presbyterian Church

First Presbyterian Church -Chestnut St.

The postcard was a part of any traveling experience in times gone by. Many are predicting its demise including this article by CNN titled “Endangered Travel Items”.
