Places in my PAST have brought me joy and happiness.

The Coach4adayChallenge for June is really simple. Think about a place daily that makes you happy. That list includes a number of PAST locations that I may never experience again. Some no longer exist or I lack the ability to recreate what brought me happiness.

So today I am going to list these PAST experiences.

  1. A restaurant that was a fixture for my wife and I when we lived in Rock Hill SC called Thursday’s Too. It was our weekly date night spot. The owners Kathy and Larry Bigham treated us like royalty. We soon found out they treated everyone that way. I so miss this place and Larry.

2. Tony and Tina Jenkins backyard on the corner of West 23rd and Barker in Lumberton NC. They are still great friends but have moved to Southern Pines NC. They have a great backyard there also. Yet, there were countless nights when they lived in Lumberton that my wife and I wound up in their backyard private oasis. It always seemed to occur for some spontaneous reason.

3. Getting to share a string of text messages with the late Steven Bourquin about an episode of Seinfeld. Getting to be with him on the beach in front of his ocean front condo. Reflecting on the PAST with Steven makes me mostly happy.

I am blessed that not all my happy places are in the PAST.
