For March 2024 several of us will be participating in the “30-Day Shout-Out Coach4aday Challenge”. Today the recipient is LINDA METZGER

In 1998 my family was making the move to Lumberton, NC from Rock Hill, SC. We had five children in ages from 11 months to 17. We needed to find a suitable house. My wife was fixated on building a new house. I had my eye on a house located on historic Elm Street in Lumberton.

Linda Metzger became our realtor. and it began a long friendship on many levels with her and our family.

Rules of the Challenge

Organizing and participating in the 30-Day Shout Coach4aday Challenge is very simple. Below are the steps.

Here is how to participate.

  1. Identify who gets the daily Shout-Out and make sure they know you are recognizing them.
  2. Describe why you giving them a Shout-Out-what are they doing that is notable?
  3. Do this daily for 30 Days posting on social media with the hashtag #Coach4adayChallenge

If you need ideas on how to give someone a daily shout-out here is a link on LinkedIn with some ideas that are good for the workplace.

March 16th-Linda Metzger

Linda is married to Don Metzger. Each of them has been wonderful to us. Don has served on the UNC Pembroke Board of Trustees. Linda not to be out done has served on the Robeson Community College Board. The key word with both of them is service. Don is also a former elected Councilman for the city of Lumberton.

Here is a snippet of her service to others. Linda has been an avid advocate for the Cape Fear Council of the Boy Scouts for many years. Additionally, she plays a vibrant role within her church, First Presbyterian of Lumberton, NC. Engaging actively in politics, Linda and Don have served on the Robeson County Republican Committee. Her involvement extends to various community fundraising events, where she is a familiar face. Notably, in 2014, she showcased her talent as one of the featured dancers in the “Robeson County Dancing with the Stars” event. Alongside her husband, Linda has shown significant support for the local hospital, Southeastern Health (now UNC Health).

Coach4aday

My purpose in life is to coach. I am a former collegiate basketball coach, director of athletics, and chief of staff. I worked at four NCAA Division I & II universities during my career. At each campus I learned timeless lessons on teamwork and leadership. Today my passion is coaching others on what it takes to lead, serve, and succeed.
