As part of the 30-Day Curiosity Coach4aday Challenge in July, I’ve dedicated today’s focus on the agriculture impact of KERN COUNTY (CA).

The mechanics of this challenge involve presenting a question and subsequently uncovering the optimal response.

July 22nd Curiosity Question

What impact does Kern County (C) have on the US Agriculture?

Last week I was snacking on some pistachio nuts and realized they were grown in Kern County (CA). Was not sure where it was and what else they may grow in large quantities. What I discovered is that it is the number one oil and agriculture-producing county in the nation.

Kern County is located in the southern part of California’s Central Valley and has a climate and soil conditions suitable for pistachio cultivation along with other products.
