Hanging Rock Information

First piece of info is this State Park is located in a rather rural part of North Carolina. The park is located about 10 miles south of the Virginia State Line and about 30 miles north of Winston-Salem NC. The park was created in 1936 and over time thanks to donations has grown from 3,000 acres to 9,000.

It is a great place for hikes and admission is free.

From what I can determine the most photograph place in the park is the Hanging Rock Overlook. You access that location by completing a 2.4-mile roundtrip hike from the park’s main parking lot.
