This week I discovered the difference between giving up and letting GO.

One of the joys of being curious is the daily opportunity to learn from others. Reading the newsletter, The Daily Coach I came across a name I did not recognize. Jamila Reddy who is a transformational life coach and had her writings featured in a past issue.

At the moment I came across Jamila’s name I was wondering how to help three individuals battle a low point in their lives. Going to her blog I located affirmations she wrote that I believe can help.

Letting Go

When encountering emotional low points or grief we often are tempted to decide to give up on something. We often confuse quitting with deciding to be letting something GO. There is a difference.

*Quitting or Giving Up means telling yourself that you are not good enough-Letting GO means detaching yourself from emotions, thoughts, or people who no longer are serving you.

*Quitting of Giving Up-limits your personal freedom-Letting GO-Liberates you

*Quitting or Giving Up-reduces your life’s capabilities-Letting GO-Expands life’s opportunities.

Coach4aday

My purpose in life is to coach. I am a former collegiate basketball coach, director of athletics, and chief of staff. I worked at four NCAA Division I & II universities during my career. At each campus I learned timeless lessons on teamwork and leadership. Today my passion is coaching others on what it takes to lead, serve, and succeed.
