Last week on the Coach4aday website the Video of Week focuses on the importance of a FOLLOWER.

The video is funny and irreverent but it makes a great point. In order to create a movement established by a leader he/she needs a FOLLOWER(S). The leader by himself doesn’t accomplish much of a movement by himself.

Why do people choose to be a FOLLOWER

Abraham Maslow created the Heirarchy of Needs.

The middle tier is Love or Belonging. People seek out belonging in some type of relationship which can meet their needs. Individuals become FOLLOWERS of a leader that they believe will get them what they need or want.

The irony of FOLLOWERS is they often transform the leaders. If you are in position of leadership on any level never forget the people who choose to be a FOLLOWER.
