Today for the 30-Day Sign Coach4aday Challenge I am talking about ELM. Specifically, Elm Street.

There was a time when the Elm Tree dominated just about every street in America. Their popularity came to an end with Dutch Elm Disease beginning in Ohio and sweeping across the country.

When a particular tree lines so many streets it is easy to see why many communities adopted that as an official street name. In fact, even though it is no longer a shade tree stable the street name is still prevalent today. In fact, I live on North ELM Street.

America’s Top 20 Street Names

Fans of irony will love that America’s top named street is 2nd Street. Looking below you will see a comprehensive list of the top 20 street names in America. Look at see what is number 15 on the list. Lifetime residence for me have included living on Lake, Ninth, and Maple which are included on the list.
