Today’s #Coach4aday post is on DEFINING yourself.

Often times a motivational quote inspires me to write on a certain topic. Last week I came across this gem from Dr Carl Jung. His piece of advice was as follows:

The world will ask you who you are, and if you don’t know, the world will tell you.

Methods and Techniques

Defining oneself is a deeply personal and introspective process, and there is no single “best” way to do it. Yet there may be some best practices to help anyone reach a definitive answer.

  1. Think about your values and beliefs: Consider what values and beliefs are important to you, and how they shape your worldview.
  2. Identify your strengths and weaknesses: Reflect on your skills, talents, and areas where you excel, as well as areas where you struggle or would like to improve.
  3. Consider your relationships: Think about the people in your life who are important to you, and how those relationships have influenced who you are.
  4. Reflect on your experiences: Consider the experiences you have had throughout your life, and how they have shaped you as a person.
  5. Define your goals: Consider what you want to achieve in your life, and how those goals define you.

Ultimately, the best way to define yourself is through self-reflection and introspection. It can be a challenging and ongoing process, but it can also be incredibly rewarding and empowering to have an answer when asked to define who we are.
