For today’s 30-Day Baseball Coach4aday Challenge post I am reporting on CLEON Jones.
Cleon Jones was an outfielder who played from 1963 to 1975 for the NY Mets. NY came into existence in 1962 and Jones was their first truly offensive star. He mostly played in the minors leagues during the 1963-thru 1965 seasons. In 1965 he made the Opening Day roster but was relegated to Buffalo a month into the season.
One of his best friends was Tommy Agee who he went to high school and college with.
