Today’s contribution to the 30-Day Musical Instrument Coach4aday Challenge is on the BULLROARER.

This instrument has been dated to exist beginning around 17,000 B.C. Archeologists have discovered it in Ukraine, Australia, Africa, India, and of course the Americas. It goes by several names including rhombus, turndun, and of course Bullroarer.

Bullroarer How does it work?

Looking at the images online you can tell it is a weighted rectangular thin slate of wood. The sizes can vary from 6 inches to 2 feet long. The bullroarer is attached to a long cord so you can swing it around to make a vibrating or humming sound.
