Today for the 30-Day Sign Coach4aday Challenge I am focusing on the BONEFISH Grill.

Ten years ago, today I surprised my wife by renewing our 32nd wedding vows inside the bar at a Bonefish Grill in Charlotte NC. We had met in a bar/disco surrounded by strangers in 1980 so I felt like replicating our nuptials amongst strangers would be appropriate. It also would shock and awe my wife.

Renewing Vows on 32nd Anniversary

It took a few weeks of planning in 2012 but eventually when I spoke to the restaurant’s general manager the stage was set. When we walked in the BONEFISH Grill the hostess was in on the surprise. She told us to stand in the bar while she checked on our seating. What she really was doing was getting Kevin the Chef who would serve as our de facto minister.

Kevin came into the bar instructed us to come forward and in a loud booming voice followed the script I had provided the restaurant. You can see our vows at end of the post. The look on people’s faces was priceless. The surprise on my wife’s face was even better. So, every time we see a BONEFISH Grill sign it means something to both of us. Including today which is our 42nd Anniversary.
