#Attitude October 10

Not all heroes have physical superpowers some of the best just possess a positive ATTITUDE.

Aaron Judge hit 62 homeruns in the 2022 Major League Baseball Season, and he surely has achieved hero status. His chase to achieve 62 was well publicized and chronicled. It is easy to appreciate that type of physical accomplishment because we often have a set of data to compare it to.

The same week that Judge hit his record breaker I got to observe another hero who just approached a personal setback with a fantastic ATTITUDE. It all came from an email.

Lee Scott’s Attitude

Every town in this country has leaders who transcend all types of challenges with their ATTITUDE. In Lumberton NC one of those people is Lee Scott. If you have dined at Arnold’s in Lumberton, you know Lee. She and her fiancĂ© Arnold West make the business special.

Lee is a dynamic business leader, community advocate, mom, friend, and an individual who exudes a Christian heart and positive spirit.

On the last day of the MLB season Lee Scott sent all the members of our Kiwanis of Robeson/Lumberton Club a message. She has been diagnosed with cancer. Cancer has impacted my family in the past and is impacting it today. It is impacting friends of mine. I am quite certain cancer is impacting you directly or indirectly.

Lee’s message was not woe is me, but it was upbeat and positive. It also was transparent in asking for help in handling some of her upcoming responsibilities to the club until she clears some medical hurdles.

You got this Lee. There are prayers coming your way. Our entire community just happens to hero worship you because of your infectious outlook on life. Keep living a great story.

Not every hero hit 62 homeruns, some just inspire us with their ATTITUDE.
